I'm a Freelance Music Photojournalist from NYC and Founder of the Heavy Metal website PiercingMetal.com; I created this blog site to showcase the other things in life that keep my interest or catch my attention. Believe me that is a lot of stuff to talk about when it comes down to it. I hope you enjoy what we are delivering because there is so much to share as a resident of this bustling metropolis.

I’m fairly certain that even Mary Poppins herself would find it rude to repeat something over and over but we are talking about her own movie “Mary Poppins Returns” which comes care of Walt Disney Studios and opens in theaters everywhere today. Emily Blunt is now in command of the flying umbrella and brings the smiles to the front as the timeless character made famous by the great Julie Andrews. The trailers have been widely broadcast everywhere and even RIGHT HERE for good measure if you haven’t seen them yet. Check out the Theatrical Poster, Premise and Casting down below.

The Premise: Set in 1930s London, Jane and Michael Banks are now grown-up, with Michael still living in the house on Cherry Tree Lane. He lives there with his three children, Annabel, John, and George, and the housekeeper named Ellen. After Michael suffers a personal loss, Mary Poppins comes back to the Banks family with street lamplighter Jack, and eccentric cousin Topsy. (thanks Wiki)

Next year, the folks at Illumination Entertainment (who’ve given us the “Despicable Me” films) will be bringing us back into the world that happens while we are at work or school with “The Secret Life Of Pets 2”. This trailer is one that features the character Snowball, a white rabbit. Let’s look and if you’ve missed any of the other posts about this film just click HERE.

The Synopsis: Max faces some major changes after his owner Katie gets married and now has a child named Liam, up to the point he becomes overprotective. On a family trip to the countryside, Max meets a farm dog named Rooster, and both attempt to overcome his fears. Well how about that my friends, it appears as though we’ve once again arrived at the time where the Instagram “Top Nine” images are tabulated and that means you get to enjoy them as well. Over the course of 2018, I really was enjoying the use of Instagram as a social networking tool and I’m fairly certain that I used it a lot more than any of the other socials combined. The rundown will come after the image below so please take a gander. I figured that I’d offer up some background on them all.

About These Visuals: Starting from the top left hand corner we’ve got my favorite girl Spooke the Black Cat and she actually made the Top Nice twice this year. The first one is from a vet visit for a quick check up and the other was just her chilling out on my office chair that she likes. There are two photos of me with the first one being from the Style Fashion Week step and repeat area while the other when I was dressed all Southern casual while visiting my family down South. The second row also features two images from the NY Empire State Tattoo Expo which I was honored to wander as a member of the lifestyle media. The extremely lovely ladies pictured from each in a left to right fashion are Ryan Ashley, Nikki Simpson (from an Inked tattoo reality program) and burlesque goddesses LuLu D’Vil, Bon Bon Cherry and Frankie Fictitious. Whew, such talent. The last row are two visuals from BroadwayCon which I attended for the very first time and loved it. Last but not least is a steaming plate of Polish food that my mother made when I was visiting down South. It was so danged good that I had seconds and you know what else was good? Our year in Instagram because I had a blast uploading and sharing all of these and so many more adventures with those who happen by. According to their tally, the account recieved 11.3K likes for the sum total of our 2,860 posted images. I believe we’ve grown by about 60 followers over the year to 681. Let’s see how much closer I can get to 1K on this account over the course of the soon to arrive 2019 year.

The Christmas Trees Of New York City 2018

The Christmas Season is in full sway in New York City and I will not be lying when I say that it’s one of my favorite times of the year because everything is so beautifully decorated and lit up for all to enjoy. One of the “Holiday Hobbies” I’ve had for a couple of years now, has been my annual “Christmas Tree Hunt” and this initiative involves me trekking around our metropolis to assorted locations where some nicely done trees are set up. The hope is to snap a few photos for the website and our social networks and maybe even help spark the townies to do something similar and show the tourists that there is more than the massive Rockefeller Center tree to enjoy. This year I’ll be using my Samsung point and shoot along with my Galaxy Note 8 and I’ll start the adventure with the origami tree that is set up in the incredible American Museum of Natural History but first we are greeted by a dinosaur.

This beautiful tree features tons of origami art and these hand-crafted decorations all depict sea life. I’ve secured a few different angles on this “Oceans Of Origami” presentation. It was awesome to see in person and I hope that this inspires you to come to the museum and explore.
