Piercing Ken Thoughts: This years show ended with a bit of a drama as the announcers called out the winner of the “Best Picture” Oscar as being “La La Land” (which had won quite a few awards over the course of the program as you can see in this list. Sadly, this was NOT the Best Picture of the Year and that award was intended for “Moonlight”. It was quickly corrected but still rather embarrassing for all involved and somewhat of a letdown for the folks behind “La La Land”. I didn’t see a single film from the list of the ones that got nominated and that’s mostly because I prefer the big action blockbusters and superhero films. To each their own right?
