Maybe you weren’t expecting a sequel to the “Coming To America” film but then again since everything seems to get one these days maybe you were. The new film is called “Coming 2 America” and as you will see in the first trailer, appears to reunite most of the original films cast. Some are even playing the multiple roles that they did the first time so let’s take a look at this clip.

The Premise: Set after the events of the first film, former Prince Akeem Joffer is set to become King of Zamunda when he discovers he has a son he never knew about in America – a street savvy Queens native named Lavelle. Honoring his royal father’s dying wish to groom this son as the crown prince, Akeem and Semmi set off to America once again. (c/o Paramount Pictures)

Piercing Ken Thoughts: It’s without question that the original “Coming To America” film was among my favorite comedy movies as a youth. Everything about it had me rolling at times and truth be told I’m a little surprised that it has taken so long to offer up a sequel. This looks like it will be a lot of fun but since I am not a subscriber to the Amazon Prime service, I don’t have access to their video content and hence will not be seeing it until the film makes its way over to Netflix or HBO Max.
