Eating It All @ Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse (Myrtle Beach, SC)

Continuing along with some of the restaurants my family and I visited during my first trip down to their new location of Myrtle Beach, SC, I am up to the Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse. This was something that my Father had wanted to try more than Mom did but I am surely not going to argue with being carnivorous.

Historically speaking, I have never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse and while I’ve visited BBQ spots over the years this was something entirely different. We ordered a drink, a Mojito, which was made right in front of us from a little wagon of ingredients. It was cool and the drink super tasty, and very strong. You didn’t want to have more than one of these if you were driving anywhere soon that’s for sure.

Quick Eats @ Liberty Tap Room (Myrtle Beach, SC)

As a number of posts over the course of this month on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” have explained, I had headed down South early in the month to see family and now that I am back in good ole NYC, I’m getting to posting about many of the sights I enjoyed. I also wanted to serve up some images of the eats that I had if you can pardon the terrible pun and instead of lumping them all together they each get a post of their own. That brings me to the Liberty Tap Room which was the first place that my folks and I dined upon my arrival. It’s a typical pub type of place and since it was a Sunday there was not a lot of choices. Yes, outside of NYC places take off on Sunday.

The place had numerous representations of the iconic Statue Of Liberty around, and this was one of the more prominent ones so I snapped a visual. I’m not going to go overboard about the decor of the place as much as share the images of the eats that we enjoyed.

My family retired and relocated down South to Myrtle Beach, SC not too long ago and I was finally able to visit the new home and do some exploration of the area. All of the places that I got to see were perfect items for this lifestyle blog so here are some visuals from the St. John The Baptist Greek Orthodox Church that I got to see when we attended a Greek Fair being held on its property. There was music and food of the Greek nature and since one of the attendants to the church was talking to us I was able to walk around and snap plenty of photographs.

Seeing The Sights with Helicopter Adventures in Myrtle Beach, SC

So here I am in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina seeing my family after far too many months of not having done so. They retired down here last year and are keeping the kind of schedule that I am doing up in New York City and with my visit had lined out numerous activities that they themselves wanted to try. One the adventures was actually to ride in a scenic helicopter. Here is my Helicopter Adventure.

I had never been in a helicopter before so it was going to be interesting and yeah a little bit frightening since heights and I are just not something I easily deal with.  As you can see the helicopters have a few different routes to take.  The longer the tour, the more expensive the per person ride is going to be.  I suggested that we take the shortest route since there was so much other stuff to do while I was here.

Everyone had to weigh in before the ride because the weight had to be in proper proportion.  You didn’t want the helicopter to fly sideways now did you?  I didn’t think so.  Resultant of the weight-in, I sat in the back seats on the right-hand side. Hey here is our chopper.

The Chronicles Of PiercingKen Are Southbound!

Hey there readers and welcome back to the program once again. In case you are wondering what I am talking about with this one let me explain. You might remember my mentioning how my family retired a couple of years ago and when they did this they also packed up from their beloved Brooklyn and headed to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The best option for my trip was going to be using Spirit Airlines for the flight as they go directly to Myrtle Beach and require no side stops to switch planes. With the distance being an under two hour flight it makes the most sense to just go straight there. Spirit Airlines is a low cost economy airline and essentially if you want something it comes with a dollar figure. An extra bag = $, a window seat = $ and a bag of potato chips or soda = $. You get my point.
