Scenes From The Bay Ridge Norwegian Day Parade 2015

Though I’ve mentioned this before to the readers of the Piercing Ken blog, there’s a whole lot more of you hitting these posts of late so some might not know that my neighborhood of Bay Ridge Brooklyn was originally a very strong Norwegian based area. That said, we hold an annual parade for Norwegian Constitution Day which is on May 17th and this year it was able to be held on the actual day so a little more special in the hearts of all Norwegian residents and those who came to visit the neighborhood once again. I headed out to the parade and snapped a whole bunch of photos that will bring you into the moment with me. Its a mostly visual presentation but I might chime in here and there.

Bay Ridge Norwegian Day Parade (5/19/2013)

Yesterday it was a very gloomy and rainy day here in Bay Ridge but that did not stop the proud Norwegian residents from marching in honor of the annual Bay Ridge Norwegian Day parade. I really enjoy bringing our readers the occasional area parade when it is possible for me to attend and present you some visuals of the proceedings. With that being the case I will not say too much and let you instead feel like you were standing right there with me. Enjoy.

The Leif Ericson Park Viking Adventure

While the plan is to feature some of the pleasant shots we have managed to obtain when wandering the area parks in this blog, there is one set of images that is already online and features all that you need to enjoy about this particular one.  I will link to that in a moment but first some back story to help you understand.  I was out walking with my friend Eric The Beehivehairdresser and we happened upon a couple of interesting sights that were captured on digital media.  After the adventures had completed I realized how a number of the shots I had taken all worked within the framework of a musical genre that I find very important to me as a writer.  Resultant of this I composed the “PiercingMetal Viking Quest” which you can enjoy by clicking HERE.

Have fun, I know I sure did.
