Quick Eats @ Liberty Tap Room (Myrtle Beach, SC)

As a number of posts over the course of this month on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” have explained, I had headed down South early in the month to see family and now that I am back in good ole NYC, I’m getting to posting about many of the sights I enjoyed. I also wanted to serve up some images of the eats that I had if you can pardon the terrible pun and instead of lumping them all together they each get a post of their own. That brings me to the Liberty Tap Room which was the first place that my folks and I dined upon my arrival. It’s a typical pub type of place and since it was a Sunday there was not a lot of choices. Yes, outside of NYC places take off on Sunday.

The place had numerous representations of the iconic Statue Of Liberty around, and this was one of the more prominent ones so I snapped a visual. I’m not going to go overboard about the decor of the place as much as share the images of the eats that we enjoyed.

Fortunately it was still Happy Hour and the family and I opted to select several things off of the menu and share around the table. There was three of us so this was easy to do for the most part. Sadly they were out of the pretzels and my Dad doesn’t much like Bleu cheese so a couple of options were “off the table” so to speak.

First up were the blackened chicken spring rolls which I found to be very tasty. Good flavor to them.

Mom is not the ravenous eater that I was after a flight and she wanted to try the spinach dip which I had to say was a tad on the bland side for me. This doesn’t seem like a difficult dish to do so I expected better.

Obviously these are the chicken wings and we got them with a medium level of spice. I have the fiery tolerance in my palate but these were just perfect. I like flavor more than just heat. Nice work.

The pizza surprised me with how tasty it was and that’s because I am from NYC and very picky when it comes to pizza places. There is no shortage of them in NYC as you know and we’ve even shared some thoughts about a popular one in NYC called “John’s Pizzeria of Bleecker Street” if you care to look at that post. This was pretty much the best part of the presentation along with the spring rolls. I also had a beer but that is not pictured.

Just a couple of visuals of the wall decor to close us up with this post. I felt this was a good enough place to come again and it reminded me a little bit of Smith’s in NYC that I visit frequently before the concerts. It’s in Times Square on 44th and 8th Avenue and you’ve likely heard me speaking of it in the past.
