Happy St. Patrick’s Day 2014: Let’s Get Green!!!

Well hello there dear readers of the Chronicles of PiercingKen and let me be one of the first to wish you all a very “Happy St. Patrick’s Day”. It’s time for us all to get a little green going on and as has been done for the past few years on this blog, I present to you some themed findings from my travels around NYC’s streets and shops.

My first stop was at the nearby Pizzeria UNO that had a cute leprechaun door painting. Its very similar to one that I observed last year but that works for me. Mind you I have not been into this restaurant for years but I am sure glad to see an “A” rating on them. Perhaps its time for another visit.

Now onto Foodtown which is a stop that I feel that I live in based on how many times my Foursquare has calculated my stopping in for this and for that. They had some shamrock shaped cookies and more.

Mmmmmm. Irish Soda Bread. Did I say “Mmmmmmm”. Oh yeah I guess I did.

Then there was this stuff. Vanilla flavored green milk by TruMoo – I was stunned but I will also admit to being curious. I wonder what chocolate milk syrup would do to this stuff. I sense an experiment coming.

Of course all this food was making me hungry so I swung over to Dunkin Donuts who had a St. Patrick’s Day themed couple of donuts. These were the Mint Oreo Donuts. One regular and one cream filled. There was a slight mint taste to the green frosting but nothing that impressed me all that much. I neglected to get their Irish Creme coffee. Oops.

As I continued the wanders I passed by the Rent A Kilt shop which is an Irish store and they had a ton of things to get you properly into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit. The next bunch of photos are from their window so do pay them a visit since it looked like nice things.

Our area American Greetings card store had a lot of nice stuff for St. Patrick’s Day as you can see here. Oddly enough I don’t think that I ever purchased a card for this particular day.

While heading out to the HIM show I noticed how Pete’s Tavern was decked out in some greenery and while I’ve enjoyed a cold pint or three at this establishment its the spot pictured below this one that is generally my home away from home.

Of course I am speaking of Duke’s Bar, a place first recommended by my friend Steve Keeler of Rock Fantasy. As you can see they were wearin’ o the green in a neon sense.

No beer for the Maestro this St. Pat’s Day, because I had the bright idea to give up the stuff for Lent. This was not the wisest of my decisions but I have stuck to it so far and that is good. Have one for me for sure and I will have a Magners Cider along with you.

The main himself, the great Saint Patrick. We took this from the Church that bears his name right in our Bay Ridge neighborhood.

Once again “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” from our house to your house or in this case from our computer to yours. Do have a great time but be careful and responsible. No one wants to find you or any others hurt for any reason.  All photos were secured via the PiercingMetal Batphone this time around and I wanted to make note of that.  See you next time.
