Happy Super Bowl Day 2014

From the Bud Lite Quarterback and your humble scribe at the PiercingKen Blog Center.

I’ll admit that this years event is pretty damn cool based on it being in our neck of the woods in nearby East Rutherford NJ at the Met Life Stadium. Since I am not the proper sports historian, I cannot say that I totally know whether this has ever been done here before or not. Granted I didn’t think so since its often so brutally cold around this time of year on the East Coast. The Big Game will pit the Denver Broncos against the Seattle Seahawks and I have to admit that I never followed either team before and wish the best one with the best game skills today the maximum amount of luck.

I’m posting this early for those still seeking out the proper Super Bowl Party event and suggest that they hit one of their favorite watering holes if they feel like doing a little drinking (but please my friends do so responsibly) or maybe convene with friends who are doing some kind of gathering even if its the last minute. There are plenty of awesome pizza places to enjoy or Chinese Take Out spots so give them some business which I know will be appreciated. As far as my own plans, I will be sticking to the creative base command today because there are two killer shows to attend starting tomorrow and its only the beginning of an absolutely insane media week for my time. I look forward to it and of course you will be able to enjoy what I got up to on this or the main website soon enough.

Now let’s toss that coin!!!!!

Presenting Superbowl Boulevard 2014

Superbowl Sunday is just around the corner and the Big Game this year will be the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Denver Broncos over in nearby East Rutherford NJ at Metlife Stadium. This is the first time that a Superbowl game will be over here but then again this particular stadium is relatively new. It’s also going to be a cold one for the players but this post is not really about that and is instead a bunch of visuals of the Superbowl Boulevard that has been assembled from Times Square to Macy’s and runs all of Broadway with activities and broadcasts and a couple of rides.

I decided to get off on 34th Street and walk up to Times Square to see what it was all about and snap a bunch of photos. Since you only have a couple of days to wander this yourself, I figured I should post this quickly. It goes away on February 1st unless I have been misinformed. So take a wander through these visuals, I didn’t comment in one much this time around.

Beware The Gloom Of The Fog Filled Night…..

We had a gloomy fog filled night tonight and I just had to wander about a little bit to give you folks from outside the region a little glimpse. It was pretty eerie out there but also rather cool. I was armed with only the Panasonic Lumix and an eye ready for any foreboding figures that I might encounter.

I wandered down the nearby avenues to see what it was like and it was pretty weird to find such an empty street since it was not yet too late in the evening.

NYC Had A Snow Day Today (1/3/2014)

New York City got hit with a little bit of a snowstorm the other day and instead of sitting inside I downed a couple of cups of coffee and headed out into the day after mix to snag some photos of my immediate area. With so many friends in the warmer climates, I figured they would enjoy seeing this kind of stuff. Let’s start the adventure with the street right outside of my creative command center.

It was interesting to see Third Avenue so desolate but it was quiet so almost a welcome experience. There were not many people around me and this was not super early mind you. Everyone was bundled up because it was about 11 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s -11.666 for those of you using Celsius by the way (brrrrrr). I’m sure my Finnish friends would tell me that this is like a summer day to them.

I Am….A New Yorker :)

Did that title get your attention? Good, I had hoped that it would even with the slight flair of drama. So what am I on about this time, well, when I was heading out from the recent NY Comic Con 2013 down at the Javits Center I glimpsed up and saw this visual.

I might not have said it in this blog yet, but the Empire State Building is one of those sights that I think I can look at on a daily basis from any number of vantage points and never get tired of it. It’s been decades since I have even been in the building but I digress. I felt the connection of the building and the neon New Yorker sign worked out quite well. I hope you like it.

That said, I also shot one in the daylight and while nice did not have the same pride impact upon me. I guess I am strange.

I’ve been securing a lot of similar things from around the city these last few months so I will be striving to add them to the blog for you all to appreciate and share with your friends if the need came upon you. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
