Happy Easter My Dear Readers

We just wanted to take a moment and wish all of our readers a very “Happy Easter” today if they are celebrating. It’s our holiday too for those curious and I am getting ready for the usual practice of morning mass and then some time with family. If this is your celebration we hope that you enjoy the day as well. Of course to our esteemed readers that are still celebrating the Passover holiday we hope that has been wonderful for you.

I didn’t post a lot of images this time around, that happens on occasion. Until next time.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day 2017

Today is Saint Patrick’s Day and I apologize for not really having a whole ton of photos representing the green but I actually didn’t see all that many in my travels and have been busy working on some of the other ideas that I have for the website. I did find the sign at the local Bridgeview Diner interesting as it lauded “Saint Patrick’s Week”. My guess is the upcoming parade that I usually feature here for you out of towners is the rationale behind that. I always enjoy that parade and will hopefully be there on Sunday 3/26 when it happens. Stay tuned.

So I was in the diner to get myself an order of the corned beef and cabbage dinner. I love the stuff and its a tradition that I try to keep up with every year. I’ve never tried to cook this for myself though since I don’t actually think I am patient enough but maybe the next time around I will give it a go. The order came with an ample supply of the corned beef, the cabbage, two potato wedges and two carrot pieces. The whole thing is NOT pictured in the photo. I had the rest a little while after finishing the first plate. They provided a couple of slices of rye bread but honestly they should have prepared some traditional soda bread instead. That makes more sense to me. I also had a bowl of their split pea soup that came with it but that is not pictured. There you have it.

Happy New Year 2017 My Friends

On behalf of my beautiful black cat Miss Spooke and myself, I’d like to wish you all a very Happy New Year 2017. Let’s hope that its a good one for all of us 🙂 As is my common practice, I’ve lined out a couple of guidelines that are good aspects of a positive year. Try a few of them if you can.

1. Life live in the real world and not just via Facebook. Sure its fun to share things on the network but don’t focus on it as the most important thing in your day. I’ve watched it damage too much to be a fan these days and outside of feeding my other social tools to the profile and official pages, I have little use for it.
2. Keep up with your family. Parents, Uncles and Aunts, Grandparents, Cousins etc.
3. Love your pets. They only stay with us for so long so make those moments count. Sometimes they let you include them in silly photos like I’ve done with my Spooke a few times. She doesn’t seem to mind.
4. Take on some adventures. You don’t have to go far away but can do some closer to home stuff. Get away when its possible. It lets you recharge. Museums and parks are great for this.
5. Take photographs. Where you post them is up to you. I do that via my personal Instagram and this website. Sometimes I share that stuff was done on Facebook but its only a sneak peak.
6. Be there for your friends but not at the expense of yourself. Let’s face it – some of the people we meet and keep up with just tax the spirit. Energy and time vampires or negative and complaining about every single thing. Less of those types in your world is a good thing so clean that list up a little bit. It’s a better thing in the end.
7. Read something whether its a full on novel or just a magazine or comic book. Let your mind wander.
8. Listen to the music you love and investigate new stuff. Go see some shows. Support the bands that are striving to entertain you.

That should suffice. I don’t want to get too “preachy” or soap-boxing on you but just wanted to offer some tips. I’ve a lot planned for this website in both the serious reporting and the lighthearted observations so get ready for that. A lot of the daily routine is shared on my Twitter and the visuals of the moment on the Instagram which can each be found on the main page. Thanks in advance for reading and following all of this stuff. See you soon.

Merry Christmas 2016 From Our House To Yours

Hello my friends, and a very “Merry Christmas” to you all if you celebrate the holiday as we do of course. As Hanukkah began last night as well I will also extend a wish for a very happy one to those who are celebrating it among our readership. What a year it has been. I’m hoping that our wish finds you in good form and doing something with the people that matter most in your personal world. Family, friends, beloved animals etc. For this years image I couldn’t find a proper “costume” for Miss Spooke and it was only last year that I did the little Santa hat on her in the first place. Instead she opted to pose with the cap I will be wearing to Monday’s Trans-Siberian Orchestra show.

Meowy Christmas!

The photo below is the same one that I used on my PiercingMetal website wish for the holidays because it was perfect for the occasion. I happened to catch up with Mr. Claus over at a recent Sirius XM event and I swore that I had been good. Hey I don’t want the Krampus dragging me away because I have too many posts to deliver to you.

Alright, that’s all I have for now, so please enjoy the holiday and know that I will see you very soon with something new and interesting. Thanks for reading these words and images. You’re all the best in my mind 🙂
