A Temporary KISS for the LES

A few weeks ago I lamented the loss of Nice Guy Eddie’s which was a favored space for a couple of beers and food when I was planning on hitting a show down in this part of the Lower East Side. They had a decent happy hour and were also known for this next visual which was emblazoned proudly on their side wall.

Sadly this image was eradicated when the place changed hands but the area residents would get a temporary reprieve that was painted onto the wood protective constructs around the restaurant. I made a trek down there today to see what it looked like and present my findings to you.

As you can see I wasn’t able to get a perfect full on shot because of the open door and while I was feeling a little brazen, I would not have had the time to close the door, run back for the shot, and then scoot away without getting someone screaming at me. Let’s just think that Paul was not yet finished with his makeup and was protecting his face from the masses. I also was unable to navigate around the dumpsters that blocked some of Ace Frehley. Sorry to you Space Ace fans, but if this bothers you a lot you can imagine that this is Tommy Thayer. Maybe that will make you feel better. The larger visual shows that the band is on a NYC subway train. Cool stuff for sure. I wonder if when the renovations on the new space is completed will we see another KISS mural. I would like that. Wouldn’t you?
